Story Time – Photo Day Gone Wrong!

Hello and Welcome back to,

Gossip & Giggles with T.

In the last 17 years of my life I have had some very funny but VERY embarrassing moments, all of which I will never forget. Some I have made people promise to NEVER tell anyone and others I feel like so many people know that I might as well share them with you all.

So today I decided I am going to share with you a story… one that I will highly REGRET publishing…but a day I will never forget, Year 9 Photo Day. Okay, so photo day is something that everyone in my class HATED, simply because it always seemed to be a surprise.

That day I rocked up to school, looking like a mess (nothing out of the ordinary)… I was sitting there in R.E, not paying attention to world, when our class was called down for photos. I remember us all being so shocked and making such a drama out of it, like the typical 13 year old’s we were.

We made our way down and queued up alphabetically and luckily for me I was in between my two bestfriends Mia and Skye. There were 11 or 12 people in front of me, and one by one they were all sitting down on the chair in front of the bright lights, the camera man and the staff. All I heard was everyone complaining about not doing their hair that morning and really not wanting to have this photo done. I looked around at my class and thought I need to do something to make these people laugh. So I took the opportunity to be the clown I am, and do something to cheer everyone up.

I have this facial expression that looks something like this…

I think you may know where this is going…

So I said to Mia and Skye, “do you dare me to go in there and get my photo done pulling ‘that facial expression'” and OF COURSE they said “YES!” So i thought if i’m going in there to make myself look silly, I may as well complete the look.

I searched through my bag which seemed to have everything in and found this HORRENDOUS, pink with flowers, headband, i put my hair up into this messy bun and put it on to complete the look.

Like everything I do, I first of all told everyone… and then I prepped my self. I had to make sure that when I go in there I can just pull the face and then leave. So I kept pulling the facial expression, you know just to make sure that I would per-fect it. But, I soon realised that it was harder to do it on cue. Then I decided, so that I didn’t have to worry about it not going right I would just walk in like it.

So Skye’s  was getting her photo done and I was waiting patiently with my rehearsed facial expression, when I remember the World Map, which is a poster that has student’s photos on with arrows pointing to where they come from. This poster was placed on the wall by the student entrance nice and big, but it gets worse… I was on it and the photo’s they used were from the last photo day.

I began to regret the decision of making myself look like a fool, because there was a possibility that the World Map photo could be updated and I don’t particularly want 1000’s of people in my school, a lot of whom I know to see this picture. However, before I can even change my mind I am already sitting in the seat.

So I was sitting there, and the cameraman asked if I was ready. I decided that I can’t do this, BUT my top teeth and lip had dried out so much that it was STUCK because of how long I was in the position. I began to panic. I had two options, make an even bigger fool of myself, tell the cameraman I wasn’t ready and use my finger to bring my bottom lip down or do what I did…

It was so bad that not even my own mother brought the photo… Although I don’t blame her! Hahaimg_0285

I felt so embarrassed that I didn’t even want to be in that room anymore, let alone ask for another photo. I did however manage to make people laugh giving them a reason to smile in their photo and luckily for me they never did update the world map photo!

Moral of the story, ALWAYS be prepared for photo day, and if you plan to pull a facial expression, make sure it’s one that you can change without completely embarrassing yourself.

Let me know if you would like to hear more of my stories, I have SO many that I can share with you all! And if you have any embarrassing or funny photo day stories share them with me in the comments!

But, for now that is all!

I hope you’ll stick around until next time!

I hope you enjoyed reading! Catch you next week with another blog,

Much Love,

– T
