Hello and Welcome back to,
Gossip & Giggles with T!
The one thing I love about this time of year is that I don’t have to come up with excuses as to why I don’t want to go out, and I can watch Netflix in peace. But, it does also mean I can get through TV-Series extremely quickly!
This last month, however, I have been quite into my romance films… so here’s a few that’s worth checking out!
My Bestfriends Wedding
This is such a beautiful movie. I had never seen it before and was actually totally shocked at the way it ended. When I was watching this I was totally hoping that the two bestfriend’s would end up together. The movie is all about bestfriends Julieanne and Michael who make a deal to marry each other if they’re both single when they turn 28. A few days before Julianne’s 28th birthday she calls up her friend only to find out he’s getting married. She later realises that she is in love with the guy and does all that she can to sabotage the wedding. The movie stars the wonderful Julia Roberts, Dermot Mulroney, and Cameron Diaz.
This is another movie where my predictions on how it would all play out were totally off. It took me until the very last few scenes for me to decide on whether I actually liked the film or not. SPF-18 is about 18-year-old Penny, who spent years crushing on surfer Johnny. When the two finally get together she ends up meeting country singer Ash Baker and has to decide on who she wants to be with. I think if I watched the movie with no expectations, I would have enjoyed it a lot more. I definitely think you should go check it out, but remember to watch it with an open mind. It’s not really like the typical teenage romcoms that are out there.
I accidentally came across this movie and I am so glad that I did. I didn’t realise the movie was actually based on a book and I think it would have been great to have known this beforehand because it would have made so much more sense. Without spoiling anything for you, the movie is about a girl who is sent to this boarding school to get better after she is blamed for setting a house on fire killing a guy inside of it. At this boarding school, she meets two guys. One is quite a dark and mysterious and is often alone. The other is the opposite. The movie is full of a lot of plot twists and leaves you on a cliffhanger. It is definitely worth a watch!
Jack Whitehall At Large
Jack Whitehall is one of a few celebrities that I really love! I am always so excited for everything that he does, whether that be playing a troll, with no lines, in an animated movie or show based on him taking a GAP year, travelling, with his fathers. So of course when this came out I was ecstatic. I spent the full hour and 7 minutes laughing so hard that I nearly wet myself. Everything about the way Jack puts on a show is just great. You can tell how much effort he puts into it – from the way he presents himself to the flow of his anecdotes. I would recommend this to everyone, it is definitely a must watch!
I fell in love with this romantic comedy, 1999 British film, starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. The movie is all about William Thacker, a bookstore owner who meets the famous American actress Anna Scott in his bookstore and the story of how the two fall in love. The film was beautifully made, and the cast in it was great too. I laughed, cried, and enjoyed the soppy love story. And it will definitely be added to the list of RomCom’s I love.
This TV Series is one of my favourite shows out there at the moment. It’s all about 4 gifted people, all of which have extremely high IQ’s – Walter O’Brien, Happy Quinn, Toby Curtis, and Sylvester Dodd. They begin working extreme cases with Homeland Security in particular Agent Cabe Gallo. And although they are really good at their job and pretty much save lives of thousands of people in each case, they can’t communicate well with people who are ‘normal’ or not gifted like them. So they hire a waitress Paige, who also has a kid who’s gifted. In return for Paige helping them with their EQ’s, they’re helping Paige understand her son. These group of people make up the team of Scorpion. This show is put together so well, and the storyline leading through the series as well as the missions they’re set on in each episode are extremely engaging. It’s full of action, drama, and romance. It’s definitely worth the watch!
But for now, that is all.
