Hello and Welcome to,
Gossip & Giggles with T!
How are you all during this cold weather? I am not going to lie I am loving it! I finally have the perfect excuse to binge watch Netflix whilst being wrapped up in a blanket on the sofa with a hot chocolate. Are you experiencing heavy snow and trapped inside? If so here’s a list of TV shows and movies I’ve been watching on Netflix these last couple of months, that you could check out!
Friends – As the clock struck midnight new years eve, everyone was celebrating the new year, and me not being well, I was celebrating the fact that Netflix had just added Friends! There is nothing greater than a good old Friends binge watch, and for the past few months, all I have done every night is just that. Check out my TOP 10 FAVOURITE FRIENDS MOMENTS!
If you don’t know what Friends is about, then where have you been all these years? It is a sitcom about 5 young adults (Joey, Rachel, Phoebe, Chandler, Monica and Ross) who are best friends and are tackling adult life together while living in New York. The show aired between 1994 to 2004, with over 200 episodes full of laughter and hell of a lot of coffee!
1 Chance 2 Dance – This is such a beautiful movie about a 17-year-old girl, whose dream was once to be a dancer, and when she has to move during the middle of her senior year she find’s herself torn between 2 guys and rediscovering her love for dancing again. Watching dance movies always put me in such a happy mood and make me want to get back into dance again. Add a splash of romance and comedy to the mix and I am hooked!
Teen Witch – The first time I heard of this movie was on Robyn Lively’s Instagram page where she uploaded a video of her recreation of the ‘Top That’ rap on Halloween last year. After googling away, I found out that the movie came out in 1989 and is about a girl named Lousie who find’s out she has magical powers that will begin working on her 16th birthday. This is the perfect movie for those who love witchcraft and teen high school romance movies! Even better if you’re thinking of watching the Teen Witch series that is currently in development!
Peaky Blinders – Changing it up a bit from teen romance to something on the opposite end of the spectrum is the TV series Peaky Blinders. If it wasn’t for my friend I don’t think I would have even given this show a chance. I honestly didn’t think I would find it all that interesting, and I thought the violence would be too much for me, but I was wrong. The show is incredible. I have fallen in love with Thomas Shelby and his family, and I’ve only watched up to season 3!
The show is based on a gang named the Peaky Blinders, set in Birmingham in the 1920’s following the end of World War I. It contains a lot of drama and violence, but it definitely worth the watch. I can’t wait to watch season 3 and 4, but I’m in no rush as season 5 is not out until 2019!
La La Land – This is hands down my favourite musical out there. I can’t tell you how much I love this movie. I feel like if I had to have a movie to represent me, it would be this. A quote I live by and like to encourage other too is “Dream Big” and this movie is all about the dreams and passions two people have and their journey of chasing them. We see them failing, doing thing’s that they don’t want to be doing, but always having that drive to get to their end goal. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone played their roles in this movie perfectly and who can resist a movie with these two in it together. So if you love a bit of Jazz or your someone who’s chasing your dreams, and fancy a little romance and drama added to the mix, this is the movie for you!
Brooklyn Nine-Nine – Now, I’m not going to go into too much detail on my love for this show because I want to do a post dedicated to it, but I will say that this is one that I felt like I was never going to watch, and now it’s pretty been on loop since November. This is all about a group of detectives working at the 99th precinct in Brooklyn. The show is so funny and has such a great cast! It’s one of those series where you could watch it all the time and it’s still always so funny or captivating. I can’t wait for the second half of season 5 to be released and I am praying for a season 6!
Greenhouse Academy Season 2 – I could not wait for the release of Season 2 of Greenhouse Academy. I did mention on my What I’ve Been Watching On Netflix | September 2017 post my thoughts on the show when Season One was released, and nothing has changed since. I binged the whole season in one day, I literally did not leave my room until I had finished it. Each episode leaves you with such a cliffhanger that I found it impossible to not watch the next episode. The storyline overall had me screaming at my television, I don’t think there was an episode where I didn’t laugh, gasp and scream ‘what’ or ‘ahh’. If you want to find out more about what I think of the show then keep your eyes peeled for an individual post on the show.
Sydney White – This is one of my go-to Teen Rom/Com’s that I have been watching since I was about 12/13 years old. The movie is about Sydney’s experience of freshman year of college as she pledges for the sorority her late mother was once apart of, but quickly finds out sisterhood is not what it once was. One thing I love about this movie and it’s one of the main subjects throughout the film is individuality. The movie really show’s how different everyone is from each other, how we all have quirks that make us unique and that’s ok. It show’s that you don’t have to pretend to be something you’re not to fit in or be popular. People will love you for who you are!
What have you been binge-watching on Netflix? How excited were you for Friends to have been added or are you more of a Peaky Blinders lover? Let me know in the comments below!
But for now, that is all.
