What I’ve Been Watching On Netflix! | March and April.

Hello and Welcome to,

Gossip & Giggles with T!

To say I’m an emotional person I think is an understatement. I have spent most of my movie nights in tears, so be warned that some of these movies/t.v. shows may make you cry! Here’s What I’ve Been Watching On Netflix during March and April.

On My Block

I didn’t think I would like this programme when I watched the first episode, and then before I knew it I had finished the first season and in tears. On My Block is about a group of kids Monse, Ruby, Cesar, and Jamal who live in a rough part of South Central Los Angeles. The 4 kids are about to start high school, however, they’ve all changed over the summer, that they struggle to deal with the changes. I quickly grew to love these characters and their storylines. So much drama, tragedy, and love all fit into 10 episodes. What more could you want?

I was so happy to see that Rent was on Netflix. For those who don’t know, this movie-musical was originally a Broadway musical but in 2005 they turned it into a movie. The drama-romance is set in 1990’s and is about a group of friends who are struggling in all aspects of their lives – from their careers, and love life’s to paying their rent. The film also focuses a lot on AIDS, and the different way’s these characters lived their lives with it. What I loved so much about this movie is the acceptance and love for one another. Such a large group of people all going through so much, and there’s no judgement. I would have loved to have seen this cast live on the Original Broadway.

The Avengers

With the new instalment of the Avengers being released, I thought it was only fitting to watch Avengers Assemble. I really love myself a Marvel movie and Netflix is full of them at the moment – I’m thinking a Marvel Marathon is what I’ll be doing this bank holiday, but anyways.
This movie is about how S.H.I.E.L.D. director, Nick Fury, who brings together some of the greatest people on earth and beyond, to help retrieve the Tesseract stolen by Thor’s brother, Loki. What I love so much about this movie and all Marvel movies is how clever they are at putting it together. I’m always so engaged when watching them. If you love yourself an action movie, this is a really good one to check out.

The Avengers

I cried so hard whilst watching this movie, but I’ve also never laughed so hard at watching some parts too. Dude is all about 4 girls, who are best friends, and how they cope with the last few weeks of the senior year as well as coming to terms with the death of a loved one. That is of course when they’re not getting high in their backyards. There was something about this movie that has made me want to re-watch it over and over again, and each time I’ve come away saying wow, just wow. I 100% recommend watching this movie!

Candy Jar

This is another movie that got me sobbing into my pillow. With the way the movie was described, well let’s just say I was not expecting that MASSIVE plot twist they threw in mid-way through, and I’m not going to tell you, because it was because of that plot twist that I actually went back to the begin to re-watch it again. The movie is about 2 students who come from the different ends of wealth and share more than just a love for debate! All I’ll say is just be prepared for that twist!

With all these movies making me cry, I decided to change it up a bit, and watch something that’ll make me laugh. So I went for 2 comedians that I love!

Kevin James Never Don’t Give Up

I’ve always loved Kevin in movies, and I’ve only ever seen short clips online of his stand up, and interviews. So when I saw his comedy special I couldn’t click play quick enough. In this family-friendly special he talks all about allergies, fans, being a parent and bunch of other things! You’re guaranteed a good 60 minutes of laughing, so take an hour and give it a watch!

Chelsea Peretti One of the Greats

Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea…well, she really is one of the greats. I had never heard of her until I started watching her in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It was actually by accident that I began watching the 2014 special on Netflix, but I couldn’t turn it off. It had me in tears of laughter; it was honestly the best accident I have ever experienced. Her material is either really relatable or really funny, there’s no in between. It’s definitely worth the watch!
